Senior Quantitative Analyst
Imagine a future where you apply your analytical skills to exciting issues within algorithmic energy trading
Join us in this role where you’ll conceptualise, develop, implement, and deploy systematic trading algorithms in the European short-term power markets. You’ll be able to contribute to the strategy development with your quantitative and programming skills and track performance in the market.
Welcome to European Power
You’ll be part of the Digital Trading team where you, together with your colleagues, will work on automated trading strategies from inception to deployment. You’ll be part of a newly established team where you’ll collaborate closely with traders to extract the most value from our 10 GW portfolio of renewable assets and create additional value with our proprietary trading strategies. As a team, we're commercially focused but technically savvy. We collaborate in an informal, laid-back environment where every voice is heard so that we all bring the best ideas forward.
You’ll play an important role in:
- developing and perfecting our balancing algorithm to ensure the best execution of our assets
- conceptualising and developing trading strategies in close collaboration with traders
- continuously improving production strategies to drive profits
- analysing data and training statistical models to predict prices and fundamental variables
- writing robust, well-tested code and deploying it to production.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have knowledge of, or an interest in learning about, the energy markets
- like to work on interesting mathematical problems but are motivated by releasing your solutions in the real world
- have a get-stuff-done mentality and are comfortable with trade-offs between speed and quality when needed
- are numerically literate and have a good understanding of statistics and data science concepts
- have professional experience as a Python developer and have a solid grasp of best practices within DevOps.
Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
